Hammer
£240
An Arts & Crafts Gothic Revival ash inlaid wardrobe, attributed to Charles Bevan, possibly designed for Marsh, Jones & Cribb, Leeds, the ecclesiastical cornice above a central mirrored door flanked by two geometrically inlaid doors, all enclosing a fitted interior with linen press slides and drawers, raised on plinth base, 231cm H x 180cm W x 55cm D, along with a conforming bedside cabinet (2) (at fault)
More Information
Multiple trefoil details missing from the cornice, beading missing from the top of the right and left hand sides below the cornice causing the cornice to tilt.
Slight concave bow to both wardrobe doors, door also lacking a lock.
All slides and drawers feel 'tight' due to damp.
Minor split to the back boards, dry and faded patina to the LHS of the wardrobe with some joint splints to the plinth base.
General evidence of damp throughout particularly to the base, although no visible evidence of woodworm.
The bedroom suite was originally removed from a counties border farmhouse property in an untouched condition.
The pot cupboard has a dull faded patina with damp damage to the plinth, very minor evidence of woodworm to the gallery.
Both items will require a degree of restoration.
