Footnote: A. Lange & Söhne is synonymous with mechanical innovation and commitment to aesthetics, intricacy and complexity in watchmaking. Founded in 1845 in Glashütte, Saxony, A.Lange & Söhne quickly became a highly regarded watch manufacturer, with notable early patrons including German Emperor Wilhelm II and Alexander II of Russia. After World War II, the brand was neutralised and ceased to exist, however the trademark was re-registered in 1990 by Walter Lange, the great-grandson of Ferdinand Adolph Lange. the brand has been sought after by collectors for technical engineering.

This timepiece is a one of the 100-piece limited edition series issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Wempe. The German retailer was founded in 1905 by seven Hamburg-based shipbuilding firms with the goal of developing high precision nautical timekeeping instruments. A. Lange & Söhne was one of eleven watch companies that issued limited edition pieces in commemoration of the centenary of Wempe.

This is a rare opportunity to own a watch that is steeped in the history of a brand that has long been known for its horological excellence.
