An 18th century cowrie shell snuff box, the silver coloured mounts with punched dot detail, hinged cover, 6cm long (at fault)

The shell is loose in the metal mount, rattling slightly. Moderate scratching and wear to the shell commensurate with age, with some loss to the upper layer of the shell (as can be seen in pictures). There is a mid-sized area of loss to the shell with radiating hairline cracks, and further hairline cracks visible to the inside cover. The cover is slightly loose at the hinge and does not close snug/secure, falling open when picked up/moved. Moderate scratching, denting and wear the the silver coloured mount commensurate with age and use. See pictures for illustration.
