A French Louis XVI style walnut and kingwood marble top commode chest, late 19th century, the break front variegated marble top with projected and rounded corners, over three frieze drawers applied with herringbone veneer and chequered banding, above two conforming long drawers, all enclosed by simulated fluted columns upon tapering cylindrical feet, 90cm H x 132cm W x 62cm D (at fault)

Rough edge to the rear of the marble top, with further minor chips and nibbles to the front and sides.
Multiple losses and splits to the drawer and drawer frame veneers.
Damage to the top brass escutcheon, with minor splits to the drawer liners and also to the drawer joints, indicating a level of restoration.
Evidence of historic worm to the corner pillars extending into the feet, with signs of re-painting and restoration to the feet.
Split to the LH side panel, approx. 20cm long, with a minor separation split to the opposite side.
Further wear commensurate with age and use
