An 18th century oyster veneered lace box, the segmentally veneered rectangular top opening a later plush lined interior, 13cm H x 51cm W x 36cm D (at fault)

Ripples and cracks to the veneer throughout. Large section of loss to the reverse. Several chips and losses concentrated on the edges and corners. Both hinges are loose, causing the cover to move. Later felt lining to the base, which is becoming detached around the edges. Felt lining to the inside cover is heavily worn and shows tears, becoming detached at the sides. Later blue lining shows several tears and staining. The lock mechanism has been removed. Please see additional pictures for illustration.
