Estimate

Fees

A German porcelain florally encrusted four branch candelabrum by Dornheim, Koch, & Fischer, late 19th century, modelled as a classically robed mother and child upon a shaped domed base, underglaze maker's mark to base, 52cm high (at fault)

More Information

The piece shows losses to the acanthus leaf detail below the central sconce, to the fingers of the female figure's right hand, and to the petals and leaves of the floral encrustation. The cork fitting joining the arm structure to the base has shrunk somewhat, allowing some movement. There is rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout (extensive in placing) and the odd glazing fault.
