The picture has been re-lined at some point, and the edges covered with paper, which has torn in some places. The paint surface shows a diagonal scuff approximately 27cm long to the right hand side, two similar smaller scuffs, each approximately 4cm long, to the left hand side, and a further scuff to the centre approximately 6cm long. The edges of the canvas show expected frame scuffs. There is no visible craquelure. Examination under UV reveals no obvious evidence of retouching or repair. The frame is structurally sound.
