A late 19th century bisque jar, modelled as a Bull dog mask, with leather removable cover and moulded collar detail, 13.5cm long

More Information

The surface of the bisque is covered in numerous tiny 'pimples', some the colour of the bisque, others black or dark grey. It is not clear if these are firing faults or an intentional part of the design. There is a fine scratch or hairline crack to one side of the lower jaw, and a small open pinhole at the collar moulding. The bisque shows ingrained surface dirt throughout. The leather cover is somewhat dry but still fits into its aperture. Please see photos.
