A bronze Shortsword, Northern Iran, circa 9th – 10th century BC, cast in one piece and with natural pale green patina, the hilt formed of a robust eared pommel with concave outer sides and a transverse circular hole pierced through its base, slender vertically fluted grip changing to relief mouldings at the base, a pair of shoulders beneath, and the latter developing into a double-edged tapering blade cast with a narrow fuller over its length (the blade incomplete), 40.5cm L (at fault)
Note: Shortswords and daggers of closely comparable form are in the National Museum of Iran in Tehran
