An Edwardian silver novelty vesta in the form of a football by A & J Zimmerman Ltd, Birmingham 1903, in the form of a football, with hinged cover and bail loop, 4.5cm wide, weight 20.1gms

Overall condition is good. Lid opens smoothly, but does not close with a snap - it must be pushed down manually to sit flush, and does leave a slight gap. There are a couple of small dents to the cover and body of the case. There is a moderate amount of scratching and wear consistent with age and use, and the piece could benefit from a clean. There are no signs of splitting, repair or major damage.
