Fees

A small-sword, circa 1700, with slender fullered blade, lightly chiselled iron hilt involving a double shell pierced with a fine lattice pattern (heavily worn and oxidised, one shell damaged, knuckle-guard missing, the grip now bound with cord), blade length 86cm

More Information

The blade appears to be fairly straight along the majority of its length, but shows a 2mm kink approximately 1cm from the tip. The guard shows losses to the perforated surface and the knuckle guard is absent as noted in the description. The improvised grip is made from later cord. The hilt shows losses to the surface detail as a result of use, corrosion and subsequent wear.
