Fees

A Continental porcelain florally encrusted potpourri and cover, 19th century, of inverted gourd form with twin foliate handles and putti upon the domed foot, the body enamelled with floral reserves, the associated pierced cover with florally encrusted finial, underglaze blue crossed swords to base, 32cm high (at fault)

More Information

The piece shows losses to the floral encrustation, including to the finial. There is a further loss to the upper tip of one of the foliate handles. The foot does not appear to be flat, and the piece wobbles slightly as a result. The associated cover looks appropriate, but does not fit well, showing some movement. There are several firing cracks to the interior. The putti show nibbles to their toes. The gilt highlights show rubbing throughout.
