An early 20th century diamond and sapphire square cluster ring, comprising five old cut diamonds interspersed with four mixed cut blue sapphires, all millegrain set to a white metal square mount, continuing to engraved shoulders and a plain polished yellow metal shank marked '18CT', ring size R 1/2, weight 3.5gms

Width of head 10.5mm x 10.5mm.

One corner diamond has a prominent dark inclusion to centre, and one other has a small fracture. Other diamonds have small, white or transparent inclusions. All inclusions are only visible in 10x magnification. Face up diamonds appear bright, sparkly and white. Sapphires are clean, even inky blue in colour. No damage to sapphires, only minor nibbling to facet edges. Overall condition is very good, all stones are present, slight wear to claw fastenings, no splitting or thinning to the shank.
