The panel shows loose threads to one of the motifs at the top edge, the odd further loose thread, the odd small stain or mark, fading to the green silk ground, and wear, fading and small stains to the backing cloth including a missing section approximately 2.5cm x 3cm to the top edge.

Both chair covers show the odd pulled thread, the odd loose thread and the odd small surface mark, but no obvious tears or significant stains.
