A George III oak and mahogany cross banded eight day longcase clock by Benjamin Peers, Chester (active 1773-1784), the broken swan neck pediment above freestanding cluster columns flanking the 36cm break arch dial, with moon phase, subsidiary second dial and date aperture, signed with the makers name and enclosing the two train movement striking on a saucer bell, the false plate stamped 'Walker & Hughes', above the shaped and cross banded door flanked by conforming pilasters, 223cm high, two weights and pendulum
