A Meissen twin snake handled vase, late 19th or early 20th century, from a design by Ernst August Leuteritz modelled in 1861, the ovoid body painted with floral sprays and raised on an ornate knopped domed foot, gilt highlights throughout, 2nd quality, underglaze blue crossed swords struck through, 38.5cm high (at fault)

The piece shows minor surface wear and rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout, and two chips and an associated area of gold paint to the foot rim. The body of the piece sits slightly off vertical on the foot section.
