A pair of German Mitten Gauntlets in late 16th century style, probably 19th century, of well-constructed form, each formed with a rounded cuff with recessed upper border, turned roped edges and fixed inner plate, metacarpus formed of four narrow articulations and broad central lame carrying another, ridged over the knuckles, three broad lames over the fingers, each with embossed lateral ridge, thumb plates, and in heavily ‘aged’ blackened condition throughout, each 37cm long, cuffs 13.5cm diameter (at fault)
