A fine silver-hilted Small-sword, circa 1710, with long slender tapering blade formed with wavy edges over its entire length and with traces of a stamped inscription within the fuller at the forte, silver hilt cast in low relief, decorated throughout with delicate raised linear patterns, predominantly involving a segmental design of cabled lines enclosing bands of extremely narrow raised lines and all arranged between a series of decorative mouldings, with knuckle-guard interrupted by a baluster moulding, double shell-guard decorated en suite about the edges, the base of the quillon-block formed with a pronounced swell, globular pommel with raised button, and ivory grip (the grip perhaps the original), blade length 76cm
