* A late 18th century English Armorial coffee can, in the Phillip Christian manner, of straight sided cylindrical form with plain moulded loop handle, painted in polychrome enamels with a central armorial, crest and motto, 'Spero' (I hope), the interior with gilt highlighted lattice work type bands, 6cm high (at fault)

Small nibble to the edge of the base of the teacup. There appears to be the beginnings of a crack where the handle meets the cup, with some possible signs of repair. Some loss to the gilt highlight on the exterior. Moderate loss to the enamel and gilt on the interior border. No cracks, chips or major losses. See pictures for further illustration.
