There are no noticeable losses to the paint surface, however the picture is very dirty (including spotting and drip marks) and would benefit from cleaning. Some areas of varnish have a slight uneven or orange peel texture. There is an area of bare canvas to the edge of the top right corner. This, together with with the fact that the varnish and paint appear thinner in a 1cm margin around the edge of the picture, suggests that the frame may not be original, and the painting may have been the subject of some restoration at some point. The frame shows noticeable wear and losses to the gilt surface and would also benefit from cleaning.
