A Victorian pine blanket chest, the hinged cover opening to a fitted candle box, raised upon a plinth base with integrated bracket feet, 48cm H x 88cm W x 47cm D

The piece shows evidence of historic woodworm damage to the plinth base, with sparser worm damage to the lower parts of the front, back and sides. The feet are worn and wormed, so the piece may not sit level. There are losses around the edges of the pierced keyhole. The lock catch plate is present but not attached to the hinged cover. The front mould on the hinged cover is loose and slightly displaced, with the right hand nail running under the top board. The left side moulding is loose but can be pushed back into place. The hinged are firmly attached but may not be original. The lower edge of the candle box shows a split and a loss. The right hand bottom board joint is slightly open.
