A Louis XVI style giltwood and gesso framed canape/sofa, early 19th century, in the manner of Jean-Baptiste Boulard, upholstered in striped foliate fabric, the high back and arms extending to scrolled terminals, upon uprights applied with relief moulded trailing ribbon twist detail, above the concave front apron with conforming detail, raised upon spirally fluted and acanthus leaf moulded tapering cylindrical legs, 95cm H x 160cm W x 75cm D (at fault)

Heavy stain to the left side, further stains and fading across the sofa and cushions with some loss of piping.
General scuffs, knocks and chips to the gilt, some play in all the joints particularly to the left hand side.
