A Victorian silver mounted glass decanter, Gough & Silvester, Birmingham 1865, tapering body etched with swag frieze above a Greek key border, pierced scrolling mount, hinged cover with cast knop, acanthus capped angled handle, 24cm high

Glass body in good order, no cracks, chips or losses. Heavy scratching to the base, light scratching throughout body. Some nibbling around the greek key decoration. Mount and handle show heavy wear and loss to the gilt, heavy scratching throughout, but no splitting, denting, major damage or repair. Hinged cover in opens smoothly, but does not close completely flush. The screw connecting the handle and base does appear to be slightly loose. See pictures for further illustration.
