The piece shows surface wear including scuffs, scratches, dents and stains, commensurate with age and use throughout. The bearers under the lid forming the hinges possibly later. The front right corner post shows a split to the top. All drawer linings show holes at the drawer fronts. Evidence of historic worm to all drawer linings, back panels etc. All handles and escutcheons later added.
