A carved Swedish powder horn, 16th century, extensively carved with a soldier and canon, incised 'BESCHITEN KANICK' [Dirty Kanick] below the barrel, with further inscription HANS WAN DANBENICK GE HETENSTEDEN KASSTIL [Hans Wan Danbenick Give The Heathen Place Castile] below the scene, fleur de lys verso incised '1587', possibly relating to the election of Sigismund III to the Polish throne in that year, 47cm long
