Estimate
£400 - £600
A pair of George V neo-classical silver candlesticks, Ellis & Co, Birmingham 1914, each weighted square base with canted corners, with urn and acanthus leaf detail, the tapering faceted stems with rams masks and foliate wreaths, urn shaped sconces with embossed swag detail and detachable drip pans, each 30cm high (2)
More Information
Underside of base is heavily worn. Both show denting to the bases, one showing a moderate amount of small, shall dents peppered throughout, the other with heavier denting. There is some piercing to the floral medallions at the top of the stem, but no other signs of splitting, denting or repair to the stems, sconces or drip pans. One of the drip pans is slightly stiff to remove. There is moderate loss of definition to areas of the decoration throughout both examples. One example has a slight lean, and appears slightly shorter then the other as a result.
