£240
A Victorian and later pearl and diamond ring, the central pearl measuring 5.7mm x 5.5mm, with two old cushion cut diamonds to each shoulder, all set to a scrolling gallery, continuing to stepped shoulders and plain polished shank, stamped ‘9ct’, ring size O, weight 2.8gms (at fault)
More Information
There are drill holes to each side of the pearl - though they do not appear to penetrate right through the pearl. The pearl shows moderate scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. The pearl may be a later addition or replacement. It appears there may have been more diamonds, each to the outer shoulder, that have possibly been lost. The diamonds to one shoulder show a couple of chips, and all diamonds show some wear and abrasion commensurate with age and use. The diamonds appear secure, though there are indications of previous repair. There is moderate thinning, wear and loss of detail to the shoulders. Shank shows signs of possible resizing/alteration, but no thinning, splitting or misshaping. See pictures.
