Comyns box: Cover is heavily dented, and shows minor splitting around the pierced detail. The base shows several small, shallow dents to the sides, but no splitting or signs of repair. Moderate scratching and wear throughout. Cover does not close completely flush, and is very stiff to remove.
Needle case; Moderate denting to each end, but no splitting, thinning or signs of repair. Decoration is crisp and clear. Scratching and wear throughout. Opens smoothly, closes flush.
Martin sugar example: Minor denting to high points and the edge of the cover, small area of piercing to the side. Some loss of definition to the decoration. Scratching and wear throughout, mostly concentrated to the interior. Cover opens smoothly and closes flush with a snap.
Circular pill box: Small dents peppered throughout. Some small points of splitting. Cover is slightly wobbly at the hinged, and shows some thinning/denting around the border. Some loss of definition to the detailing. Scratching and wear throughout. Cover opens with ease, and closes with a snap, but does not sit completely flush.
D&F example: Minor denting throughout, no splitting or signs of repair. Scratching and wear throughout. Cover opens smoothly and closes flush.
Circular vesta: Moderate denting throughout. There are two mid-sized splits, one to the cover and one to the body. Some loss of definition to the engraving. Some thinning and loss to the lip of the opening. Heavy scratching and wear throughout. Cover opens smoothly, but does not quite sit flush.
Lozenge shaped pill box: small dents peppered throughout. Some splitting around the opening. Heavy wear to the decoration, particularly on the body. Cover wobbles at the hinged. Cover opens with ease and closes flush. Heavy scratching/wear throughout.
Buckle: Some denting, general scratching and wear throughout. Some minor thinning and splitting to the pierced detail. No signs of repair.
