An Edwardian novelty silver pin cushion in the form of a swan by Adie & Lovekin Ltd, Birmingham 1909, 7cm long, together with a late Victorian novelty pepperette in the form of a side-handled coffee pot by Henry Williamson Ltd, Birmingham 1900, 4.8cm tall (2)( at fault)

More Information

Pin cushion: Fair order. The fabric covering the cushion is possibly a later replacement, it is a cotton material. This material is heavily worn, with holes and coming away at the sides revealing the cork beneath. The swan body itself is in good order, with some denting concentrated around the cushion, but no thinning, splitting, major damage or repair. There is a moderate amount of wear to the fabric base. The swan sits flat on a level surface but does wobble. Hallmarks to the swan are clear, but difficult to spot due to the texture of the body.

Pepperette: Poor condition. The wooden handle is completely missing. There is a moderate amount of denting to the body and to the 'spout' of the coffee pot. Pull-off cover detaches and re-attaches with ease. No signs of splitting, thinning or repair.
