More Information

Trevanion Auctioneers & Valuers do not ship items containing ivory outside the EU. Trevanion recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid. A buyer's inability to import these lots cannot justify a delay in payment or sale cancellation.

The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory. Please note this means that this lot is legal to sell now but may not be in the future.

Teapot: Knop in good order. Cover opens smoothly and closes flush. There is some splitting and possible signs of solder repair to the handle where it meets the teapot body (pictured). Heavy scratching and wear to and around the ivory insulators. There are small to moderate dents to some of the highpoints of the decoration on the body and around the spout, and there are a couple of large dents to the sides amongst the embossed detailing (unable to photograph as they do not show up very well on camera). There is a patch of solder repair to one of the embossed flowers (pictured). Foot is in good order, no signs of splitting or repair. The piece shows general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use.

Sucrier: Moderate amount of denting to the highpoints of the decoration, and some very small splits, but no major damage or repair. The piece does not sit completely flat on a level surface and does wobble slightly. Gilt interior shows moderate scratching, but is largely in tact. The piece shows general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use.

Milk Jug: Some denting to the highpoints of the decoration and lower body, but no major damage or repair. Gilt interior shows moderate scratching but is largely in tact. The piece shows general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use.
