£170
A 19th century yew and ash hoop back Windsor elbow chair, with a pierced splat over a shaped seat raised upon turned baluster legs united by a crinoline cross stretcher, 100cm high
More Information
Piece shows a split to one side of the back rail (later repaired) and a repair to the lower part of the central splat. The central splat is slightly loose. There is evidence of repair to the arm rest where it meets the front turned baluster. The front balusters may be later. The back legs are slightly loose, but the chair is stable overall. The seat shows a natural crack through a large knot, and a split with consequential differential dropping to the back left corner. There is a further split to the front right corner, above the leg, but this does not appear to effect the structure of the chair.
