The bookcase is probably the upper section to a bureau bookcase, the top therefore is painted and 'unfinished' with a minor chip to the rear RH corner.
Some light rippling to the veneer on both doors which have some minor play in the hinges, further minor chips, marks and wear commensurate with age and use
