Hammer
£750
A Victorian diamond foliate ring, comprising a central old cut diamond measuring approximately 3.75mm x 2.7mm, flanked by two further old cut diamonds, continuing to diamond set foliate shoulders, continuing to plain polished yellow metal shank, ring size J, weight 3.5gms (at fault)
More Information
One small diamond is missing to the shoulder (this can be seen in the first image on the right, and in the second picture). The three central diamonds are in good order, no cracks, chips or losses, moderate scratching commensurate with age and use only. The shoulders diamonds show some very small nibbles and chips, but are largely in good order, showing general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use. Claws show some wear, but stones are secure. Stones are very dirty, and cleaning is required. Some splitting around the shoulders. There is moderate misshaping and thinning to the shank, and a small split beginning to form, but no resizing or repair. See pictures for illustration.
All diamonds appear bright and well matched when viewed face up with the naked eye, not showing an obvious draw of colour. The three central appear to be a VS/SI clarity, however they are dirty and may be different once cleaned. The diamonds to the shoulders are around an SI clarity, but again cleaning is required.
