A papier mache writing slope, of rectangular form with shaped border raised on compressed bracket feet, the cover decorated with hand painted flowers with mother of pearl inlay and gilt highlights, opening to reveal four-compartment red velvet interior, 31cm x 25cm, together with a case pair of EPNS fish servers (2)

Writing slope: shows extensive crazing to the lacquered finish of the top and cracking, staining and wear to the central mother of pearl inlay. The area around the lock shows losses and repairs. The back right foot is detached but present. The remaining feet show losses. The right hand hinge is loose. The gilt highlights are rubbed throughout. The velvet panel shows wear and fraying to the edges. The gilt highlights are extensively rubbed throughout.

Fish servers: The bone handles show yellowing with build ups of dirt and possible staining around the EPNS mounts. The case shows wear, repairs and losses to the exterior, and dirt in the pleated details and satin lining of the interior.
