The paint surface shows losses to the paint along the top edge, particularly in the centre, and the lower left corner, with craquelure throughout. Much of the surface shows dried residue from some type of liquid, and would therefore benefit from cleaning. Examination under UV shows no evidence of restoration to the paint surface, but a handwritten note on masking tape verso suggests the picture has been re-lined. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows wear to the gilt finish and cracking and losses to the moulded details.
