An Art Deco silver compact/cigarette case, retailed by Asprey, marks for ‘FOS’ London 1937, of rectangular form with engine turned decoration and gilt borders, 8.5cm x 8cm, weight 8.99ozt, complete in a fitted box

Moderate scratching and wear to the exterior. Heavy wear/loss to the gilt around the borders. Some small dents to the corners and edges. Buttons in working order, covers sit flush. There is very heavy scratching and wear to the interior of the cigarette compartment. The fabric in the compact is torn and pulled in some places. The glass is in tact, no chipping, or losses. No splits, large dents or repairs to anywhere on the piece. Some wear to the felt interior, concentrated around the borders. Moderate wear and fraying to the ribbon in the case. Some staining and general wear to the silk interior. Some areas of wear to the leather (see pictures for illustration). Box opens with ease and closes with a snap.
