A Victorian cut glass silver mounted biscuit barrel by James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield 1898, the cut glass body of compressed circular form with hobnail decoration and star cut base, with cast scrolling silver collar, pierced swing handle, cast floral knop to detachable cover, 14.5cm high

Overall very good. Glass in good order, no losses or large cracks. There is a moderate amount of small chips and nibbles to the high points of the decoration, and a few small fractures around the star cut base. Body shows general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use, particularly concentrated on the base. Collar in good order, no splitting, major denting or signs of repair. Cover shows some denting/misshaping around the edges, and does no sit completely flush in the collar. No splitting or signs of repair. Some light misshaping to the handle, but no denting, splitting or signs of repair. All silver parts show general scratching and wear commensurate with age and use.
